Korfball league and tournament software
Field in autumn, hall in winter, field again in spring. Run them side by side in one season, each with its own schedule and table.
Field, hall, field: three competitions in one year
Korfball is the one sport here whose season splits on purpose. The first half of the field competition runs in September and October, the hall competition takes over from November to March, and the field resumes in spring. Same club, same players, two or three separate tables, each with its own venues and its own results.
In a spreadsheet this is where it goes wrong. The hall half gets a new tab, the autumn field standings never get merged with spring, and by April two people have two versions.
How to set it up
Make the year one season with the halves as separate competitions inside it: field, hall, and either a third competition for the spring field rounds or a continuation of the autumn one, whichever your federation does. Teams register to the season once and appear in every competition. Each has its own fixture list, venues and table, and you switch between them without re-entering anything.
Halls are the scheduling problem; fields mostly are not
Grass is usually yours. Hall time is shared and scarce. Add each hall court and each field as a named field on its venue, then generate each competition's schedule against the days and times that half of the year actually has. Referees are managed per competition and assigned to a whole matchday at once.
Mixed teams and the roster
Four men and four women on the field, four and four in the hall. Rosters are kept by each team's own admin, so the person who knows who is playing is the one keeping the list. Squad size limits are set per competition.
Scores and the table
Goals for and against, nothing else. The table works like a football table: competition points, then goal difference, then goals scored, with points per win, draw and loss set per competition. Goals are recorded per player, so the scoring list needs no second sheet. You decide who may enter a result and whose word is final; under team-admin authority a score waits until an admin of the opposing club confirms it.
