Four courts, one evening, six rounds

Padel turns the scheduling problem upside down. A football club has one pitch and a long season; a padel club has four courts and a Thursday night. A best-of-three takes about an hour and a half, so a competition evening is not one round, it is a stack of rounds that all have to fit the courts you booked. A round that overruns delays every match behind it.

The federation runs the interclub. What lands on a club's own volunteer is everything around it: the winter league between members, the company competition on Friday, the ladder that runs from October to March, the one-evening tournament with a barbecue after.

Formats that fit

  • Club league. Fixed pairs, single or double round-robin, spread over the weeks you have court time.
  • Interclub-style. Teams of pairs, home and away against other clubs, each fixture a set of doubles matches.
  • One-evening tournament. A short round-robin into a knockout, done by closing time.

Padel is doubles, so a "team" in Tornia is the pair. Register pairs as two-player teams and the roster, the fixtures and the table read the way the competition is played. Register clubs as teams for an interclub-style format.

Dealing matches across your courts

Add each court as a named field on the venue, then generate the schedule. For a league over the weeks, give the start date, the weekday and the start times, and each round lands on its own matchday. For a one-evening event, give the day, the first and last start time and the break between matches: four courts and six rounds come out as a running order with times on it, and no pair is ever booked on two courts at once. Since the whole competition is usually booked into a fixed block of court hours, generate first and check it fits the booking before you publish.

Scores and the table

Enter the result as sets, 2–0 or 2–1, and the table sorts on competition points, then set difference, then sets won. You choose who may enter a score and whose word is final: you alone, the pairs themselves with the opposing pair confirming, or an assigned official. Players follow the schedule and the table from a public link without an account.
